The Counts of Harrach are among the most famous families of the Austrian monarchy. As friends and advisers of the imperial family, in the exercise of important offices, they travel all over Europe. Her castles and palaces were decorated by the most important artists of the time, and they always preferred the great masters of painting. Many magnificent paintings are brought to Austria from Naples, Madrid, Rome, Paris and the Netherlands.

In Rohrau, the historic country estate of the family, magnificent furniture and rich arts and crafts are also on display. Together with the paintings, the collection which has grown over 450 years, is one of the most important private collections in the world.
